The Billion-Bug Highway You Can't See

Look up at the sky and what do you see? Well, blue, yes. And maybe a plane or a bird, but otherwise ... nothing. Or so you think. It turns out that right above you, totally invisible, is an enormous herd of animal life -- tiny bugs riding the wind currents.

According to research done by British scientists in a six mile square space about our heads there can be as many as three billion insects.

That is quite some figure.  This amazing animation takes you through the reasons why.  Some of the heights that these insects reach is pretty spectacular to say the very least.  It certainly answers the question how high can insects fly?

Rat on a Cat on a Dog

You just do not get to see this every day – a rat on a cat on a dog. It sounds like something out of a bizarre yet ancient nursery rhyme which has been banned by the politically correct brigade.

Yet, here it is, shot in downtown San Francisco.

Yup, a rat on a cat on a dog – all acting as if it is the most normal thing in the universe.

Well, we all make our own normal, so who are we to argue?

Be Yourself with Ebuzzing

If you are wary about putting advertising on your blog in case it disillusions your readership can I take a moment to point you in the direction of ebuzzing? I have used this site to increase my blog’s revenue for a number of months now and I am really happy with the way that things have gone. One of the primary things that you are told about when you go to their registration page is the need to be yourself on your blog when you are writing copy for them. They do not, like many advertisers on the internet, try or want you to try to hide the fact that what you are writing is essentially an advert. They also want you to write about things that your readership may enjoy. In other words their ads are targeted to your audience. There is no point writing two or three hundred words about something if those who will read it will guess that you are only doing it for the money, is there? Thinking about what sort of advertiser would be most welcome knocking on my door I think I would have to go for companies that are ethical in both the way they source their products (or indeed their services) and pass the benefits on to customers and their staff too. The Cooperative in the UK is one such company and when I have been given the opportunity to write about them and their community projects I have really enjoyed it. When giving the message out to people that companies can be ethical as well as generating profit – and that those two things are not mutually exclusive – the really do lead the way in my opinion.

Absolutely Cuckoo Cats

One cat can be a handful, but three altogether?

Here are Lelo, Nega, Cinzy who are just about to show the world exactly how cuckoo cats can actually be. With a more than appropriate soundtrack to go with it, if you are a cat lover you will love this two minute look in to the lives of three head shaking mischief makers!

It is great to see a bunch of cats just getting on with being cats!
